Courtesy The Times.
135 new tories have formed the 301 group and plot to oust the `bloody rude`old guard who are rude to Cameron.
They plan to take over the 1922 Committee and is likely to lead to the removal of right wing tories, which might upset our
resident right winger.
Mark Pritchard present secretary 1922 Committee regularly critcises Cameron may lose his job to Charlie Elphicke.
The group intend to pass on the growing number of backbenchers concerns about the perfomance of Cameron`s
`lackadiasical`style which has given him the nickname of `DVD Dave`
Unlike the old guard they will do this in private. Interesting times ahead.

It strikes me that this has been organised by upper echelons (Cameron himself) in a bid to silence his critics and clamp down on any dissent. That's what Blair did and used very effectively his spin doctors to do the job. Alistair Campbell springs to mind amongst others.
It strikes me that this is another step to "modernise" the party and lays down a track to it becoming a social democratic party much like the liberals and therefore much like parties in many parts of Europe.
Which means in the end that any objective criticism of the leadership will be stamped down on from high in order that everything remains, er, naice. You know like naice gween environmental policies and naice europhile ideas and naice socially liberal equalitarian measures so beloved by Brussels.
So much for the new intake being rampant right wingers eh?

I think you will find this comes from the backbenchers themselves and if you take a close look Philip they are going to great lengths to get a balanced '22 from across the spectrum and the right is on the slate. Seems a sensible idea to me.

No, he is a bit of a lefty compared to me, sadly!!! A good bloke though and highly competent.
I do realise that you are trying to find some ammo to throw at him as 'right' is evil incarnate to you, about the same way I see you extreme lefties....

Correction;I knew Charlie was left of you and yes that does make him a good bloke and he is very competent...just in the
wrong party....but he does agree with Unitary Councils.

I find your idea of what makes a 'good bloke' quite informative about you Reg.
Much as I detest your politics and attitudes I have no idea whether I would regard you a 'good bloke' or not as this is unassociated with political viewpoints and I do not really know you any more than you know me.

wouldn't worry too much about flashman keith, any problems he will send in the prefects to beat up the vulnerable ones.

I hold no brief for this, or any, Government, but I do see robust debate and disagreement as a good sign rather than the opposite. It is grown up politics. I also see that we have rules, and if we have rules we need to either lobby to change them somehow, or play by them and play by them well. Use what you have or change it - and if you are going to use what you have you need to learn how to use it better than your opponents.
