Today is the 150th birthday of Arthur Beresford Pite (2nd September 1861 - 27th November 1934.) Pite was a prominent architect responsible for the Burlington Arcade Piccadilly, Christ Church Brixton, Holy Trinity Clapham in London as well as Customs Watch House in Dover. He married a local woman, Mary Kilvington Mowll, in April 1887.
Tomorrow we are laying wreaths and flowers at his grave in West Norwood cemetery London. I am in the process of getting his grave restored to its former glory in the near future thanks to the Friends of West Norwood cemetery and a donation from the Heritage of London Trust.
