Hard working Mayor Sue Jones took some time off this weekend to celebrate her 40th Birthday in fine style. Ah yes 40, always a substantial milestone in anyone's life because as we all know, life clearly begins thereafter. From this point on it's one long frivolous party of wine, more wine, and perhaps even an occasional song.....if only! But, it was a double whammy of a celebration on saturday night, because not only was the Mayor herself 40, but her daughter Suzi was 21, so if thats not an occasion for a bit of a knees up then I dont know what is.
The Party took place at the Phoenix Club, a new venue to yours truly, but it was all eye opening good fun. There was food and wine and disco type music and to top it all a fab piece of birthday cake to take home. Quite a few forumites were there enjoying themselves as you would imagine. One or two even sashayed around the dance floor in the sparkling flashing lights. A sight not to be missed!

Groupie fan PaulB gets his book signed on saturday morning Sept 19 by local author Lorraine Sencicle. Her new book is called Haunted Dover, it's in paperback form costing £7.99, and is available at the aforementioned store and all good outlets... should keep me entertained in those long winter evenings to come. I will be more than a little scared I bet...and Gadzoook!! the ghosts are local too which makes it all the more scary. On the left and far more important is the Mayor herself, Cllr Sue Jones, who paid a flying visit to lend support. Lorraine signs the Mayor's book in the picture on the left. Business was brisk. Be afraid, be very afraid! Brrrrrr !
