13 December 2011Christmas Party Time.......
We start the Christmas Party pictures rolling with a shot of Jan Tranter and Howard McSweeney. Jan had promised our associate editor Howard a big smacker under the mistletoe and that's exactly what happened, although we had to imagine the mistletoe. But imagination goes a long way ! Picture right features one of our newer members and author John Mavin on the right of shot along with Barry Wadsworth - Smith who has been here with us on Doverforum since Noah floated his Ark.
Howard again this time with other long term guys in the shape of top man and ladies favourite Ian Lillford centre and cuddly chiripy Brian Dixon on the righthandside. Picture right features the proprietors of Blakes in Castle Street where the party was held, forumite extraordinaire Peter Garstin and wife Kathryn...who made the whole thing go with a swing.
Here comes trouble! Yes it's all the lads together. On the left we have excellent contributor Andrew Stucken, alongside Andrew in the colourful garb to flag up the Olympics is KCC and DDC Councillor Nigel Collor...a member of Doverforum for a lonnnnng time, Next to him the efferevescent Cllr Stewart Dimmock who is an expert on the 'Where is it' thread..and last but not least forumite Cllr Pat Sherrat.
On the left here we have hairdresser to the stars...well she does Colette Boland's hair so what more can one say...it's none other than Gillian Smissen who had the independent Regatta Hair Salon in The Churchill Hotel before the hotel went bust right from under her. Gillian had been to that point a long time long term advertiser here with us on Doverforum...and we always need our advertisers..rates are fair !!
The pictures shows Gillian with a book of raffle tickets. ColetteB and Gillian managed to raise enough money to pay for the 'do' by coercing all the forumites to open their wallets. Gosh there weren't half some moths and cobwebs on display!! but they got there in the end through a series of tortures and arm twisting that had to be seen to be believed. My arm has not fully recovered!

Picture left shows ace contributor Ross Miller enjoying his pint in the midst of it all...and the picture right features ColetteB right snuggling up to Jean Walkden but all the while both staying close to the bar !
Sue Mullan left always helps at all our parties with the food and here she is in harmony with one of our newer members Sarah Price, and very welcome you are too Sarah. Last but not least is stalwart forumite and indeed stalwart Councillor, Roger Walkden, in close proximity with ColetteB.
