USA, time to choose....

I have been rather underwhelmed by the US Presidential elections that come to their conclusion this week.

Obama has been a poor president and that is putting in mildly.  OK, he was needed as an anti-dote to Bush but he never did live up to his promise.  

Right now the Republicans should be 'storming it' and ready to march triumphant into the White House.  But they are not and the polls look too close to call.

Part of the blame, I suspect, is their candidate, Romney.   He may have done well in the presidential debates, particularly the first one but he really does not inspire any confidence.

I really am not sure that Romney is up to the job, but one thing I am certain of is that Obama is not up to it.  If I was an American the choice is between a known quantity who is no good and an unknown quantity who may be no good.  Therefore I would most certainly vote Romney while crossing my fingers and holding my nose!!!

  On the one hand:An incumbent dealing with an economy on it's death-bed - brought low by the previous administration, prosecuting a war on terror in a way that is statistically 'pleasing' - a war too, that was gifted to him by the previous administration, dealing with a fee-heavy health insurance industry in a way that reduces costs and broadens scope. An incumbent that promised a great deal, but has only managed 'much'. All the while being thought unsuited to the job.
  On the other hand:A challenger who's arsenal of proposals is unchanged from previous campaigns at a time of great change, who comes with the same sound bites and slogans that still echo along the unemployment lines and through the medic-aid camps that sprang-up out of necessity, and in the memories of those who spent the last natural disaster huddled together in a football stadium amid their own waste.
  If Mitt Romney is the answer, what is the question?
