Motorists who witnessed fatal collision on A258 urged to contact police

Monday, 12 January 2015
Officers investigating a fatal collision on the A258 near Deal are appealing for any motorists who might have witnessed the incident to contact police.

It was reported at 8.40pm on Saturday (10 January 2015), a silver Vauxhall Astra was travelling along a rural section of the A258 Dover Road when it was in collision with a pedestrian in the main carriageway.

A local woman in her 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigating officer, PC Jamie Woodhams of Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Although we have several witnesses having seen the woman walking towards Dover, I would urge anyone who was travelling this section of road between Dover and Deal, which was about 700m prior to the junction with Ripple Road, to contact us as soon as possible."
