Park Mark awards success celebrated

Friday, 5 December 2014
Dover District Council is welcoming news that all 40 of its Safer Parking Park Mark awards have been retained for car parks across the area, following recent re-assessments by the British Parking Association (BPA) and Kent Police.

This will be DDC's seventeenth year in the scheme, which was previously known as Secured Car Parks. The awards mean that measures are in place to create a safe environment, and they recognise the standards being maintained at the car parks.

Mike Bibby, BPA Area Manager said: "I am extremely pleased Dover District Council has maintained their standards to warrant their awards continuing and I would personally like to thank all personnel involved. Users of these facilities can be confident their welfare and that of their vehicles is being well taken care of, creating safe and non-threatening environments."

Cllr Nigel Collor, DDC Cabinet Member for Access and Property Management said: "We are very pleased to see that all 40 of our Park Mark awards have been retained, and that these car parks continue to be recognised as safe places to park. We continue to work with all our partners to make sure the district remains a safe place to live, work and visit."
