Appeal for information into collision on A2 near Dover

Tuesday, 16 September 2014
Kent Police is asking for anyone with information about a collision which occurred on the A2 near Dover on Sunday (14 September 2014) to get in touch.

Officers were called to Jubilee Way at Guston at 6:58pm following a serious two-vehicle collision between a blue Vauxhall Astra and a white lorry.

The road was closed between the A258 and the A256 in both directions until 1:10am. Both drivers were taken to hospital for treatment.

Sergeant Christopher Wade from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "The collision happened on the A2 at Guston, between the Whitfield and the Duke of York roundabouts.

"A blue Vauxhall Astra convertible and a white-coloured Man articulated lorry appear to have been involved in a head-on collision on the Dover-bound carriageway. The driver of the Astra was airlifted to a London hospital with serious injuries and remains in a critical but stable condition. The lorry driver was taken to a local hospital where his condition is also described as serious but stable.

"We are extremely keen to speak with any person who witnessed the collision who has not yet spoken to an officer, or anyone who saw either of the vehicles involved prior to the collision."

Anyone with information can contact Senior Investigating Officer PS Wade on 01622 798538, quoting incident 14-1302, or e-mail sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk.
