Vote for community projects at Neighbourhood Forum

Tuesday, 18 September 2012
Local residents are invited to come along and vote for their favourite community projects at the next meeting of the Dover Town Neighbourhood Forum on Thursday 27 September at Buckland Community Centre in Dover from 6.30pm.

Dover District Neighbourhood Forums have decided to continue using Participatory Budgeting (PB) to award grant funds to local community projects.

PB is an innovative way of allocating funding that directly involves local people in recommending how grants are awarded in their area. Invited local groups, who have applied and been found eligible, will give a two-minute presentation on their project. Local people will be able to vote electronically on the day on how they score each project, and the top scoring projects will be recommended for funding. Recommendations are then subject to approval by KCC and DDC.

Doors open at 6pm, for a 6.30pm start, with light refreshments and an opportunity to meet your local County, District and Town Councillors, and other Forum members. This is an open meeting and all residents are welcome.

For further information, contact KCC Community Engagement Officer Emma Carey on 01622 694943, or DDC Community Development Officer Lynn Brisley on 01304 872164.
