How To Become A District Councillor

Monday, 29 January 2007
A special event is being held at Dover District Council on 19 February to provide information to anyone who may be interested in standing for election at the coming local elections, and to give a valuable insight into what life as a Councillor is really like.

The event will be held at the Council Offices at Whitfield from 6pm to 8pm and will include a wide range of information, including the electoral process, the role of the Councillor, training and support, projects for the future, and the structure and composition of the Council, and a full question and answer session.

District, Town and Parish Council elections will be held on 3 May 2007 and the nomination process begins between five and seven weeks before the election, in March 2007.
