Oh, there was me thinking they were on a
roll, rather they are using their
loaf.
I wish them every hap-pie-ness.

difficult to survive for baker's nowadays with supermarkets having their own in house, with greggs and the 2 vanes they will have plenty of competition in town.

Casey's has closed but the good news is that all the equipment in the bake house (includeing the staff!) have been bought by Amina's, so they will be produceing thier own breads etc.

Mrs Casey(mother of the former owner) once told me that the original bakery, which has a level below street level, was the original building in Tower Hamlets and was built to feed the soldiers preparing to repel the French in the Napoleonic wars.

Worth visiting farmers markets and farm shops for a wide variety of artisan breads. Better still make your own. Only do set in a stock of indigestion tablets as I bet you will not be able to resist slathering butter on the hot bread as soon as you take it out of the oven!

I noticed that you see through the windows of Gomes in Lorne Road again. I wonder if it's reopening?

I've sussed it now. Boots are going to use it as a separate dispensary for the ever growing number of methadone users.

Lots of new openings on the horizon in the High Street coming up. Thank goodness for the Mobile Mechanic and Boots Opticians to name but two.
