Too late Howard there was a mysterious smash and grab at Timpsons only one pair of trainers where stolen , I believe the description of the "offender" was a middle aged woman who exited the store at what can only be described as a fast waddle .

I only know my bit Howard but I believe it starts at St James Cemetery at 10.30 then decamps to the Town Hall for the bell ringing at noon.

I now make sure there's a clock by the bell. Reason being, no names of course, that a few years ago an erstwhile Councillor prodded the Mayor at 1½ minutes to 12 who then promptly rang the bell. Poor old Dick down below hadn't even brought the Standard Bearers to attention!

as a strange coincidence,4 british soldiers where being reburied at tha hac cematary near aras today,2 unknown and chaps named as lt.pritchard and pte.elphick where buried at 12 noon,the same time as our mayor was ringing the zeebruger bell.
