Car wash objections
- 21 November 2014 07:33274736Well, maybe you are right, Howard, they like to keep themselves in the news, the good, the bad or the ugly! I re-read the previous DE article on this story, looks like their frontman Gary's imagination was running wild when he said: "When we first took on the site, we moved our perimeter wall due to a pipe underneath and all we've now done is put fencing up to stop people parking on our land."
Does anybody recall the mysterious perimeter wall they are claiming was there back in 2009 when they bought the site? I certainly don't? Just look at the Google street view photo of the corner from June 2009, that was a few months before the carwash owners bought the site in October 2009. There is a very distinct lack of any perimeter wall on that corner.
In my opinion not only they don't own that piece of land, they also know right well that they don't, but are going for it anyway. You can get away with many things in Dover, you know!

- 21 November 2014 09:30274745KCC will have the facts at their disposal and that land is probably owned by nobody so if someone chooses to park there it is no problem as they are not causing any obstruction.

21 November 2014 09:48274748Technically Vic it's isn't the pathway and probably can't be as it's uneven and could be a tripping problem.
Mind you parts of the terrace between 319 and 295 London Road are very uneven but that's another matter!

- 26 January 2015 11:37277713They DID have to do it if they wanted to keep operating, it was a condition of their part-retrospective planning application approval.

In view of their objection regarding traffic build up I wonder how worried these developers are about the recent traffic problems along the A20.-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.
