Socialism doesn't necessarily imply compassion, and capitalism doesn't necessarily imply greed. It's possible for socialists to be champions of free enterprise and also for capitalists to have a social conscience and be philanthropic. As for us euro-sceptics, we should vote UKIP at the euro-elections, hoping to frighten the bejesus out of Cameron so that he starts to entertain the idea of an election pact with UKIP at the next election. A Tory/UKIP coalition after 2015 is our only realistic chance of getting out of the EU. I would absolutely not trust a Tory majority government to honour its referendum pledge, and any other coalition would put the kibosh on it.
