Meeting the Mayor
at Armed Forces Weekend.

The organisers of the hugely successful Frontline Dover weekend, now part of the Armed Forces Day celebration, which was held in fine style in Pencester Gardens over the weekend, are seen here meeting Cllr Ronnie Philpott, Mayor of Dover, shortly after she opened the event on saturday.

The organisers are our very own Barry Williams blogging forumite favourite on the left and Una Mills on the right.

The Mayor of course is the one wearing the chain! Not long in the role but already a very busy bee indeed.

Forumites at Play:

The picture left shows two rogues for sure with a fair damsel in between. Yes indeed good time lads, Brian Dixon left and Alan Taylor right, keep a firm hold on Colette Boland in the midst of the melee. Picture right shows two old soldiers. On the right of picture is long time member of this forum Ian Lillford who met Ted Smith for the first time in many years, that's Ted on the left of shot. Both joined the 1st Battalion Prince of Wales own Regiment of Yorkshire in 1973, both joined in Dover, and they havent met since leaving the army, but bumped into each other last saturday for the first time in all those years. Small world isnt it.

Picture above left shows Charlie Elphicke, Conservative MP for Dover and Deal, running into yours truly PB seen here on Charlie's left of centre !...at the Help for Heroes stand yesterday. The stand was being manned by Ian Lillford. On the right we see the evergreen Swingtime Sisters entertaining the crowd.
And speaking of the Swingtime Sisters...here we have ColetteB jitterbugging to the music with the very young and ever smiling Kasey Lillford. Unfortunately Kasey looked down at the moment of picture. In the background watching on is her nan Fran Lillford on the left of pic...and whats this??..who is that in the background right? well its none other than our roving Associate Editor and paparazzo extraordinaire Howard McSweeney.
