Santa Claus at Crabble Corn Mill on Sunday Dec 2.

1 December 2007

Santa Claus arriving at the Crabble Corn Mill on Sunday. He was thronged by lots and lots of girls and boys, all breathless in wide-eyed anticipation. I grabbed this quick picture as he arrived with his great big bag of goodies. It was a very exciting occasion. He eventually made it through to his very colourful grotto and all the mums and dads and boys and girls were thrilled.

Well it was a great day at Crabble Corn Mill yesterday. The whole place was abuzz with excitement and anticipation. Wide eyed kids all agog, waited for the arrival of the famous man in the red suit. The Doverforum team arrived 10 minutes before Santa did, and were hit with this great wave of wonderment on the faces of the kids, the kids of all ages. We made our way to the bar for some light vino refreshment and waited along with everyone else for the great moment to arrive. Over in the corner Carol Webb was painting butterflies on the faces of the kids. Then the call went up.."Father Christmas is coming..!!" People made their way to the door and looking out across the still, deep water, we could see the man in the red suit in his 'airborne chariot' golf buggy. He arrived in style. It was great fun.

The picture on the left shows Santa all cosy in his Grotto following his trip in from the far north. With him here are Conservative Councillor Nigel Collor's niece and grand niece. Yes that's little Serena Whiteoak with her butterfly face really enjoying her moment with Santa, and thats mum the lovely Lisa next to her.All enjoying the occasion. The picture on the right and gosh Im not mistakes am I ? isnt that the same Santa helper as in the picture way below at the very bottom of the page taken a few years ago. Well so it is!? I think...Angel winged Amy Collins looking good and doing a great job.

This picture shows Jennifer and Steve Hollands having a great day out at the Mill. The kids had just been to see Santa and all were thrilled. That's Grace on the far left with the magnificant antlers, and in the centre Clara with the delicious red hat.Oooh I think I see a Gingerbread Man on the table there in front of Clara...yum!

The picture on the left shows the Nunn family in with Santa. A great family day out and we have smiles all round. That's blonde haired glamourous gran Janet on the lefthandside, in the background is Dad Andrew and he is holding little Joe, while in the foreground we have another glorious butterfly, the 10 year old Jessica. The picture on the right shows the ever effervescent Vic Matcham about to nibble the ear of lovely lady wife Lesley. Someone whispered the word Mistletoe and Vic was right in there for a kiss and a cuddle.

Sunday Morning Dec 2.
Santa Comes Today. If you allowed yourself to think over the years that "there aint no sanity claus", well you'd have been wrong. There is...and this sunday he is coming to Crabble Corn Mill arriving at 2pm.

Yours truly will be there with daughter BB and camera obscura, to soak up the warm glowing atmosphere of Santa's Grotto and to get a few pictures as well.

Santa will be making his way all that distance from the North Pole just to be with us here in Dover and more specifically here at the Crabble Corn Mill.

Really pleasant atmosphere guaranteed and a pleasant occasion for kids of all ages, and Im the biggest kid of the lot. I will be making my wishlist today to pass on to the wonderful white-bearded man himself tomorrow sunday. No doubt BrionyB will be doing the same. Oh the excitement !

The picture above was taken a couple of years ago on my lil ol low pixelled early digital model Kodak. It was shown before on the old website that collapsed from under us, and all details were lost. So I no longer know who the little boy is, nor do I know who Santa's helper is, but they look great and make the picture complete. I know who the chap on the left is, the red suit gives it away!

So Crabble Corn Mill is the place to be this sunday Dec 2.

More details in the Whats On pages.
