Big Dave's Bar-B-Q.

9 July 2007

You know how it is...at every party there are always the last few who just wont leave, the last stragglers holding on to the last hurrah, and you're looking at them right here. Yet who can blame the revellers in this case as this particular event was sooo good, it was just too hard to go home. Exotic Pimms, even Champagne, and a sumptiously aromatic nostril filling barbecue to boot, what else could anyone need on a hot tropical summers day here in Dover, other than a wee sprinkling of delightful company....and we had all that here.

On the left is Fab Guzzler Tom ,he of the penchant for Hawaiian shirts, with protective arm around dream daughter BrionyB, as has Loyal Roger W. Then we have sunglazed ColetteB, and then the doe eyed scribbler MaryG with her arm round Colette. Then host with the most DavidH with his arm around Mary, and Mary with her arm around Big Dave. Then Lovely LindaH and then Barry W-S with his arm around Linda and she around him. As you, reader, can clearly see....Love is breaking out all around us..that Pimms No.1 has a lot to answer for!

On the left here we have Marek's lovely wife and daughter, Maritas and young Natascha, who came to enjoy the carnival atmosphere and stayed on for the party. The pic on the right has ColetteB and DavidH posing nicely in the last rays of the dying sun, while Guzzler makes strange hand signals in the background.

Party givers and soft shoe shufflers, the incomparable Hannents, comfortable in their skin, gave a great party as ever. During which the Carnival passed noisily down Castle St and we all came out to watch and to photograph. Hard work its true... impossible to focus on your digital equipment after all that champagne and skittles, or should that be champagne and vittels.

Roger Walkden, who always pops up colourfully in my pictures, poses happily with Marek, while Jean keeps an eye on proceedings from the wings. The picture on the right shows local activist Chris Precious sharing a tinny with Mercurial Mary of the Dover Mercury.

A very nice occasion, etched now firmly on the annual social occasion list, by David and Linda. Great stuff indeed!
