Construction of the Wellington Dock (painting)

Date: c. 1844
Following major excavation work where nearly 20,000 tonnes of mud was removed, the Pent was lined with granite and reopened by the Duke of Wellington on 13 November 1846, renamed as the Wellington Dock.
