N.B. NOT that I am Bob!

Regent cinema this time. I've got a box file of complaints now, not one of which has been upheld.

If you treat them like non too bright Yr9 kids and placate them with empty and unrealistic promises to do something (affordable housing, A&E at Buckland, Regent Cinema, regenerate Dover High Street, keep the Banksy etc) the silly buggers love you.

Tell them that unfortunately DDC wont be providing unicorns this time around and they turn all Violet Elisabeth Bott and threaten to 'scream and scream until they are sick!'

e.g. Quicker we give them a magic cable car the better as everyone knows. http://www.kentonline.co.uk/dover/news/cable-car-work-progresses-92422/ Which is still in most of the mad councillors mad dreams! (Labour no doubt planning to fund it by putting VAT on Dover College school uniforms) https://www.theguardian.com/theguardian/shortcuts/2013/feb/18/emirates-air-line-cable-car-london

Perhaps if councillors stopped trying to have big ideas and leave a legacy and so on, and concentrated on just providing basic services at a reasonable cost life would be a lot better.

Can anyone tell me just one successful venture over the past half century that DDC has been behind? Just one. I can't.

The quicker DHB takes over running the few remaining bits of the district they do not already control, directly or by proxy, the better. At least we'd cut back on staff numbers and costs.
