I may point out, HM1, that you somewhat undermine your own argument by making a rather obvious category mistake. What you refer to when you mention 'Scots, Welsh, Irish, French and Germans' are rather national traits or characteristics, i.e. cultural differences; whereas what you refer to when you mention 'someone with black skin' is plainly race. Despite my proven adoration for leading capitalists and high-quality BBC TV programmes, I doubt that Sugar, despite his elevated status, would be able to tell the difference between Senegalese and, say, Ghanain, national characteristics, so I've no doubt his 'joke' was about 'black skin'.
