Staffing cost seem very high to me and travel costs can only be for when he comes back from London for the weekend or recess so again it seems to be a bit high.

Check who the employees/staff are for many MPs and you'll find that it is very often the spouse. That is not necessarily a bad thing...their salary will dictate whether there is 'an abuse of position' though.

Abuse is very hard to define these days from personal points of view
For some MP's who do things within the legal framework are sometimes caught up in the scandal with those MPs that don't
That said there is a need to review properly the MP;s high salary, expenses, what they can claim for and how, and the number of them.

Since many MPs seem to think that 'Droit de Seigneur' comes with election perhaps it's all for the best if some are married to their victims?
