#31. We differ in our view of neo-liberalism (and, for what's worth, the Lib-Dem's Vince Cable was the very person that sold off the Royal Mail).

Gordon Brown rightly got castigated for selling of gold bullion. Privatisation is the same guilt (pun not intended). Neo-liberalism claims to "open up for competition"; this is seldom in the public's interest. In Sussex, the ambulance service contract was won by a company that had ZERO ambulances and quickly sub-contracted the service to substandard privateers. Look at your energy bills. Ask yourself why the SNP, at their recent conference, resolved to create a Scottish "state"-owned energy company to provide energy that was not-for-profit. Why are councils now bringing services back under their own control rather than trust the dubious 'market economy'. We have a rail service that European governments part own and draw dividends from. I know...just read that again...a profitable rail service that pays out dividends BUT NOT FOR OUR MANY.

On the ecumenical matter of citing the gospel of Matthew, may I remind you that he was a tax collector and that you should be more sensitive in your citation of the good book bearing in mind the Paradise Papers zeitgeist.
