    It was a by-election, Howard.
    Vic stood for the Town and possibly several village wards.
    I covered the town with leaflets, but not all of it, as Vic turned down an offer from UKIP head office for 5,000 more free leaflets.
    That would normally be called electoral auto-exclusion.

    Vic received 400 town votes at a low turnout, he could have more than doubled that with 5,000 more leaflets.
    He was poorly advised by his campaigning team, who not only didn't bother taking part in any canvassing, but did not advise him to take UKIP's free offer.
