    going slightly off at a tangent now about afghanistan.

    our original aims we were told was:-

    a) close terrorist camps
    b) stop the supply of opium/heroin .
    c) bring a better life for women and children.

    we are now pulling out - result.

    on the first, they simply moved to other countries. on the second they are about to announce a record crop and on the last president karzai gleefully announced this week that in future no man will be prosecuted for violently/sexually abusing his wives and children.
