Education cannot be regarded as a 'benefit' as long as it remains compulsory. Ukip' policy is as follows:
- Migrants will only be eligible for benefits (in work or out of work) when they have been paying tax and NI for five years and will only be eligible for permanent residence after ten years.
Elsewhere they mention council housing too. Seems fair to me.
But I don't see how anyone could reasonably construe that as denying schooling to immigrant children.
Unless they were out to score cheap political points, that is.
