Whilst I have to agree that this particular councillors viewpoint is totally absurd, albeit good for a laugh, I suppose that if you believe in free speech then occasionally this type of thing is always liable to occur. But that is a good thing surely from a public perspective? Better that than not expressing one`s true self I would have thought? Now that this guy has been suspended it can be seen that his particular views on the issue in hand are in conflict and not representative of UKIP as a whole.

However, I don`t know anything about the chap of course, but it may well be that apart from this strange belief manifested through his obvious weird interpretation and love of the bible, he is actually a good councillor? I guess that he would at least be a God fearing man that would promote and value right from wrong and probably not fiddle his expenses either!

It`s interesting to note, however, that regardless of how many "oddball" stories the media can dredge up in an attempt denigrate UKIP, the national membership still continues to grow. I can only assume, therefore, that the general public take these issues with a pinch of salt or alternatively, still prefer to support a party with a few so called "loonies" and "fruitcakes" than the other worn out shysters and tricksters in government that we have previously had to endure. I wonder why?
