When we joined there were only 8 others and 40% of our exports went to them, now there is 26(I think) only 36% go there.

26 others Howard. Not sure whether we are half in or half out. I think the latter. If it is 36 % then we are heading in the right direction to avoid dependency.

The percentage can only get lower as the eurozone is stagnating and poorer nations cannot develop their economies as their workforces head west in search of a better life.
The EU is reliant on us not only for the money we pay in but we are also a nett importer, there is no way they will stop selling us stuff if we leave.

Very true Howard, they need our trade. Germany stagnating, China reductions on imports, Russia stuffed with sanctions. French soon joining the Med club economies ( probably already there).
