  Howard I can assure you that my monthly direct debits to various charities and the fact that I have close family members in receipt of disabled benefits might suggest that I am not as heartless as you might think.
  
  It's a bit stupid however if I wish to assuage my conscience by beating myself up metaphorically due to some existential guilt and just throw mine and your money at a problem when ever i feel 'sorry' for someone whether or not it is their short or long term interests.
  
  What starts with good intentions, due to the immutable laws of unintended consequences, ends up with Merkelisation and a fiscal and societal death spiral.
