    Figures for the turnout in the European election for Kent show they are higher than back in 2014.

    The figures show that turnout was highest in Tunbridge Wells at 43.1%; followed by Canterbury at 42.2% then Sevenoaks at 41%. Medway saw the lowest turnout at 33.3%.

    By local authority area, the figures are:

    ASHFORD - 37.59%

    CANTERBURY - 42.2%

    DARTFORD - 33.62%

    DOVER - 39.2%

    GRAVESHAM - 35.1%

    MAIDSTONE - 36.83%

    MEDWAY - 33.3%

    SEVENOAKS - 41%

    SHEPWAY/FHDC- 38.6%

    SWALE- 33.87%

    THANET- 36.1%

    TONBRIDGE AND MALLING - 38.9%

    TUNBRIDGE WELLS- 43.1%

    The average turnout for the region was just under 40% compared with 36.5% when the election was last held in 2014.
