If by 'decent', NM, you mean denying democratic decisions, concentrating wealth in fewer hands, supporting foreign dictatorships, belonging to globalist blocs, etc. then the truly alarming thing is that these domestic and foreign policy behaviours have come to be so normalised that any dissenter is regarded as an extremist. The 'middle ground' is simply a conjunction of ideologies; reality is somewhere outside of this.
