All change locally with the chairperson and secretary both resigning. The party seems split over who should be the next candidate with rising star Peter Wallace backed by Mike the knife Eddy and Clair having the support of veteran Gwyn Prosser.

Clair did make some howlers in the run up to the election last May, no doubt she has learned from them and will be more careful in the future. I suppose in the interests of equality they will have all male short lists this time.

After standing two times my self do not write me off in going for it again but it will not be for the reds

Not surprised. I have been hearing about differences involving the comrades for some months now.The street stalls in Dover and Deal haven't featured Peter and Clair together way before May.Peter wasn't at the count on May7th at the cruise terminal.
Peter and other councillors efforts were sometimes lacking in helping Clair, for instance numerous times when Clair was at events at Dover Marina hotel, Dover Town Hall, she had hardly any support from Labour councillors.
Of course it did not help that Peter was Will Scobie's campaign manager in Thanet for 3 months prior to May.

Clair along with other unsuccessful candidates have been very quiet since loosing out, no endless pictures or comments.
In other words typical fair weather politicians who were not really interested in the area only their careers.

I think he may be spreading himself too thin with his involvement in Thanet, that said he gets through a mountain of work in the ward. The next stage just beginning is the formation of the "Folkestone Rd Task Force" involving all Town, District and County councillors regardless of party affiliation plus Keith Morris the cabinet member for community safety.
The idea is that all the problems are tackled head on rather than the individual sticking plasters used at the moment.

All is not as it seems as not every councillor has been invited to work with the task force and noses are severely out of joint.
As points of order the Chairperson was displaced and the Secretary resigned over it leaving Simon(I spent the reserves) Bannister as the new Secretary.

I hear that Peter is so keen that if a wimmin's only short list is imposed he has not ruled out gender reassignment.
The only question is whether, with his incomprehensible Wearside accent, they can afford election materials with sub-titles?

Peter has certainly come a long way in a short time was only minutes away from becoming Mayor this year. Deals done at the time.
