Labour has a problem which I raised with the then chair of Dover Labour where he held the view Labour had to put candidates up in every ward
The problem with that is that they don't have enough people so just anyone into seats
I recall needing to find a candidate some years ago to fill a mill hill St
On the words of T birkett we put up an unknown Mike eddy
No one knew of his background
No one knew if he would be good
And now look at the damage he's caused labour
We then look at others like Nathan Richards another unknown only won by a few votes in one of labour's safest seats
The tory didn't even canvass!
Again he has given local Labour nothing but problems which I did warn them
So it's all well filling all the seats if you have enough people but just dragging people in has seen it can end in tears
Working in the communities is the best way to work towards getting elected in the main most Labour cllrs fail in(not all)
How is labour viewed on DTC another problem
Not many people support political parties dominating parish councils
And it reflects badly
I can only hope we can have an effective opposition soon
And Labour involves itself in communities all the year round not just election time
