And why not Howard? Needing less proof of identity to vote than to pick up an Amazon parcel from your local Post Office ..................

It's only been working in Northern Ireland for the past decade and a half!

Just out of interest would you like to name any other country on the planet where some form of voter ID is NOT required?

Northern Ireland was a basket case during the troubles and can't really be compared to the rest of the UK, postal voting is a bigger problem here.

There were
164 allegations of electoral fraud and malpractice during the 2014 elections in
Tower Hamlets. (and that's JUST Tower Hamlets!)

And at least in Northern Ireland half of the buggers weren't waddling around in a costume (copyright Diane Abbott) covering their features with a slit for the eyes!

#5 If you care to read The Sun article, which I wouldn't recommend (neither would I recommend citing it as a source though) you'll note that the former Labour councillor was expelled from Labour due to his fraud. He is standing as an INDEPENDENT. Yet again you are somewhat disingenuously misleading the forum.
Maybe it's time for you to be stripped of your rank. Rating Haddock - it has a certain charm does it not?

Your Grace, at no time have I mentioned the Labour Party. The subject is electoral fraud I thought relating to 'identity'?

Just for balance:

On a more serious note
ABOUT ELECTORAL VOTING shouldn't the whole system be overhauled to include electoral register internet voting. There is a digital passport after all. Most political parties and unions already conduct e-voting, typically offered by Electoral Reform Services, which conforms to the necessary standards and requirements.

Living in a country with ID cards, I cannot speak highly enough of them. I simply do not understand why people are so opposed to them. I literally do not care that the State knows everything about me - as by and large, it works in my favour rather than against me as everything is administratively easier.

#13 Source from your link. This makes interesting reading...
Despite praise from Estonian election officials, computer security experts from outside the country that have reviewed the system have voiced criticism, warning that any voting system which transmits voted ballots electronically cannot be secure.
Alert everyone now that they shouldn't do online banking or hold a credit card or have a bank account with any financial institution that has an online interface, or get paid via BACS or CHAPS.
