Strange that when the liberal elite find that there is increasing support by the voters for views which do not fit in with their idea of how all 'should' think it is dismissed as 'populist'?

Populism is when political parties see something that will gain them popularity in the short term as evidenced in so many member states of late. What happens is that parties on the left and right bang on about the EU and its currency knowing they will garner support that way.
Once a coalition is formed unhappiness and regret from the voters will come to light when they discover the policies not agreed upon. As an example Jezza and Cruella as the dream ticket?
