I feel people are becoming more aware these days in some wards they can make a difference and we saw in st rads ward labours safest seat they lost in twice in recent years and in buckland they came close to losing a seat
and there can be blips like in castle ward the tories got to complacent and lost the seat in years gone by.
There are only a few safe seats these days, most have become a lot more marginal, which isgood for democracy
At the local elections when candidates knock on your door spend a few minutes with them
ask questions such as;
what interest do you have in ward?
Are you at present involved in any projects in ward?
do you live or work in ward?
will we see you again before your 4 year term is up?
will you put people before party?
plus I'm sure you can think of lots more,,,,
