  Sadly I forecast he will lose his deposit as would any of the current crop of indies on the town councils, mostly because their support is pretty much restricted to the area they represent & isn't district wide.
  
  Outside of the major political parties any successful candidate needs to have a very broad appeal across the constituency, which requires being very active over a considerable number of years.
