    Operation back cover is in full swing now. First, I notice the Telegraph is hammering Johnson for the "three day delay" between deciding to put India on the red list, and implementing it. This is of course an attempt to cover up, as Ray says, it was actually 17 days.

    Second, the people of Bolton (and elsewhere) are being blamed for not having the jab. Of course, that's not without merit but should not deflect from the Indian trip nonsense.

    My guess would be that we end up in a position whereby tomorrow's opening is generally blamed for the inevitable "Sorry folks, alas, I must level with you. We cannot open up on 21 June as the data from 17 May doesn't allow us." Again, deflecting from his clear error in letting the Indian variant in.
