I thought the 'against damaging government policies' minority bit of his tribute was ill-chosen and superfluous. Whereas Mr Major's tribute comes across as 'Paddy was a good bloke even when disagreeing with me', Mr Corbyn's tribute ends up with a tang of 'Paddy was a good bloke when he had common cause with me'.
On the other hand, I didn't get the kerfuffle over the alleged 'stupid woman' comment; he thought Mrs May was stupid and she is a woman - so what? He is not alleged to have said 'you're stupid, but that's what you expect from a woman'. I suspect a PC comment of 'you stupid chairperson' (or even 'you stupid chair') would have made nary a ripple.
