    If that poll was/is accurate then it would show that the Tories peaked perfectly for the 2017 GE. Whilst it favours Labour, and I am somewhat partisan, it needs taking with a generous pinch of salt.

    The wider debate should be, in my opinion, that the 2017 GE was the first time since many people's lifetime that the elite weren't competing for power with another version of the elite (like Schumpeter's 1940s Competitive Elite model); it was the first time in which the elite were genuinely rivaled by a credible alternative. Let's not forget that the Labour Party manifesto was built by the members and relevant stakeholder unions/affiliates and not done to them. Oh, it was the only costed manifesto too.
