Indeed, but I don't suppose the Japanese living in America were exactly flavour of the month shortly after Pearl Harbour.
Fortunately for us, and civilisation, the USA set themselves on a war footing rather than beating themselves up over any Jap-phobia or rise in these dreadful hate-crimes.
