Firstly child abuse is not the monopoly of any particular nationality or religion.
In the UK the main danger to any child is not from 'stranger danger' but from your single Mum's latest boyfriend.
However one only has to look at the worldwide scandal of sex abuse within the Catholic Church to see that religions can 'go wrong' and be a contributory factor if not a causal one.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_Church_sex_abuse_cases_by_country With the Catholic church I don't think it would be outrageous to suggest that some who find problems with their own sexuality might find themselves 'called' to a position where celibacy is part of the terms and conditions.
The recent 'child grooming' scandals in the UK have tended to refer in reports to Asian men which is a dreadful slur on a whole continent as in all the cases the men have been predominately of 'Pakistani-heritage'; Pakistan of course describes itself as an Islamic Republic.
Like it or not Islam has always treated women as second class citizens and subjugated them.
Just as one might treat an animal worse than a human being was exploited in the War in Rwanda ( the radio called for a "final war" to "exterminate the cockroaches." ...) and Jews were though in Nazi Germany to be 'less than human', I would suggest that in Rotherham, and far too many other places, 'faith' played a part in the mindset of the perpetrators, women somehow being lesser beings than men, especially when the victims were predominately 'Kuffar' children who had even lower status than women from within the community.
Let's hope that the latest scandal involves Sikhs or Zoroastrians and I'm proved wrong. I'm not holding my breath.
