Exactly who are the people they supposed to represent?
Today the traditional Labour voting worker is just as likely to be self employed, well educated, car owner, own his house and go on expensive foreign holidays. This is one of the reasons Blair was popular he realised things had changed largely for the better. The poorly paid are no longer the uneducated who cow-tow to the boss and dare not think for themselves.
The days of the cloth capped, clogged uneducated man and woman toiling away at some menial and dangerous factory job or down the mines for 12 hours a day have long gone thank goodness, mainly due to some excellent lobbying from the unions.
