This afternoon I looked at KCC meetings.Sadly our councillors were not vocal.I really had hoped fo an input re bus services .Per usual Thanet Councillors.were more vocal.Sad .They should show some concern that’s Councillors who represent Dover District.I did enjoy the Thanet members challenging the Cabinet member

Looked in a few times myself Sue and I have to admit that Karen Constantine fights for Thanet's corner with great passion and pressurises the powers that be.

Yes that’s how Councillors should be fight for their people.East Kent always have to fight.West Kent fair far better. All the more reason for our Councillors to speak up.

Very, very silly; as bad as BEIS. Make use of Common Transit mandatory for outbound traffic, make ferry/shuttle check-in staff customs officers (who perform and transmit EU inbound Transit barcode swiping), conclude "9/11" waiver agreement with EU. Sorted. Oh, and something about UK truckers so we avoid a modal shift to unaccompanied freight.

The other amusing thing from last night was Cllr Linda Keen complaining that there was not enough public transport from Aylesham to the new Leisure Centre and we should literally start busing the great unwashed in.
At one point she asked 'and why has Aylesham not got its own swimming pool'?
I was SO tempted to shout out because they would use it for keeping coal in ............................

Aylsham has an excellent leisure centre, although without a swimming pool it has a gym, multi use game area and an outside full size football/rugby pitch which is not bad for the size of population.

And at Canterbury (where buses from Aylesham go to) Kingsmead Leisure Centre offers 1m, 3m and 5m diving boards to the public; general swimming is catered for in the centre's three pools, including a beach pool for family use.
The centre also boasts a creche facility, multi-purpose sports hall, solarium and a family cafe.

Thanks Bob .I cannot see how they can earn all this money .My lovely Grandaughter got three alevels grade. Went to uni got a first class honours degree and obtained a job straight away at William Harvey as a staff nurse in ITU and in comparison does not receive any where the money some KC C members receive.Car allowance they have to pay to park there car .Twelve hour shifts dealing with the public all the time .I await my tax bill from K C C with baited breath..on a brighter note I have been advised by my KCC member I can email direct to K C C to report bus complaints.
