    Yup. I'm sure electorate were totally impressed that last year's applications had dropped considerably (sic) to just over a quarter of a million. (Insert emoji for sarcasm here)

    The big problem as per usual is that the vast majority get placed in disadvantaged areas, notably the old GDR/DDR which has seen a big drop in the standard of living since re-unification - hence the strong AFD showing there.

    Rather ironic that Mr Farage is pleased for AFD but doesn't want the same in his party.
