    Petitions will do no good whatsoever. Holding a demonstration totaling 2 million people was shown to have no effect at all on government policy as was demonstrated some years ago. Expecting rank outsider populist politicians (Nigel Farage for example( to have any effect on this flood situation is equally pointless. Farage has shown himself up for the shallow man he is.
    His only comment on the floods was compounded by his ill fitting wellington boots consisted of demanding an inquiry, calling for overseas aid to be diverted into helping those poor unfortunates hit by the floods, musing over some sort of volunteer army and that's it!
    Strangely, he is in a position to expose exactly where the blame lies for a great proportion of the flood problem we face but he is either ignorant of those facts or is deliberately withholding the full story. It's an open goal but he fails to kick the ball into the back of the net.
    There must be more to this than meets the eye.
