UKIP and many of their supporters have a victim mentality, some still think the vote was rigged in Thanet South last May. Having said that everyone expected a much lower winning margin for Labour so a look at the postal voting system is needed.

There was no question of who would win the seat Peter. It's Nigel's inability to win anything and throwing his toys out of his pram every time that's holding ukip back time to put him to pasture or shoot the poor old nag

I would still like there to be an enquiry into the postal voting, Labour activists were saying all this week that there doorstep canvassing showed it was too close to call. There has been surprise results elsewhere where there has been a large postal vote.

Agreed, something else I think needs addressing is non-english speakers being able to vote, surely you should be able to understand the language to understand the electoral process, aside from the citizenship issue with lack of English.

Wonder what difference an absence of published polling had this week?
I wholeheartedly agree with concerns over postal voting. It is not without proven previous evidence.

Fiddling with postal votes has been going on for ages, in Ilford South non english speakers from Pakistan and Bangla Desh hand over their postal votes to the "Community Leader" i.e businessman that relies on cheap labour and he decides whic h party or individual will serve his interests best. Mike Gapes has been the recipient of these votes since 1992.

Maybe the conservatives will end postal voting to end the scams ?
it mainly only favours the official immigrant labour party .

It would be wrong to end the postal vote there are members of the public that are not fit so it helps to have the postal vote. I do not know if there is any vote fixing.I would think it is not that easy to do.

I certainly hope they do not end them as I need one the same many others. A knee jerk suggestion such as Keith's is not the answer, better security regarding who gets a postal vote might be.

It appears that 45% of people over 18 in Oldham West are physically handicapped so something has to be done to ensure that only those unable to get to the polling station get the postal vote. On top of that I would like to see proof of identity shown at polling stations.
