Your post highlights the frustrations most of us feel, an obvious lack of money to spend by the govt due entirely to govt mismanagement. Barry is a military man, he'll know far more than me the cost of our wars in Iraq, Bosnia, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, Lybia etc etc and I'm talking monetary not loss of life. My own view is we have a "Defence" Secretary as opposed to what seems to be an "Attack " or "Interfering" Secretary.
The NHS appears to be sacrosanct, other countries have nothing like the same beauraucratic machine yet when I travel abroad I don't see bodies lying in the street or queues at A&E with car crash victims waving credit cards.
As usual tribalism is the problem, check today's front page headlines, one lot blaming the other.
