Being barred or not from sitting in the HoLs due to criminal conviction and/or imprisonment is an irrelevance. As irrelevant as their supposed right to a jury of their peers or their entitlement to a silk rope once was.
It is high time the HoLs was reduced to the same level as that of their 'constituents', i.e. to nothing.

The abolition of the HoLs is the one political signal that would lend credence to the notion of we being all in this together.
Yet another failing of the recent election for PCCs was the requirement that Candidates be free from any and all criminal involvement right back to the womb.
[I think I am right in saying that a prison term of less than five years is no bar from standing for election as an MP.]
