    'Illegal avoidance' no such thing - if it is illegal; then it is evasion and that is wrong.

    Osborne is being too political and needs to put the economy before making overly simple populist statements. The lowest common denominator approach is not good policy.

    Tom - If you look at what both Ross and I have been saying about low, simple flat taxes then you will know that the worse off will not pay income tax and an overall lower level of tax.

    Once again you persist in the idea that high tax rates and complex taxes mean paying more tax - the reality is different. Even Brown knew that and that was why he did not introduce the top 50p rate until he was about to be voted out as a political trap and not for any economic reasons.
