#1342, a bit of a hand grenade into the discussion, Barry.

We all agree that a safety net is needed to protect the vulnerable and to give those who have fallen on hard times something to tide them over until things improve.

Vic has it right in #1341. There are many families with both parents working long hours, struggling to keep their heads above water, living next door to other able bodied families who don't work yet are better off because of their benefits. Everyone knows instinctively what is fair and what isn't- to me that is UNFAIR.

There should be no restrictions placed on peoples' ability to improve themselves. Giving people the opportunity to coast along with no effort is doing just that.
